Caring for Your Feet After a Foot Peel

Who doesn’t long for those smooth, soft feet we had when we were kids?

The good news is you can enjoy more youthful feet at any age, with the help of an exfoliating foot peel. It’s easy to use right in the comfort of your own home and gets rid of dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin underneath. Foot peels also help to soften up the callouses, rough patches and thickened skin that creep up on us as the years go by.

If you’ve never used a foot peel before, you may be wondering what to expect. First of all, you can expect results to appear gradually. You will notice dead skin peeling off over the days and weeks after your initial treatment.

Second, there are things you can do to keep your feet clean and comfortable and promote healthy peeling. Here are five easy ways to care for your feet after using an exfoliating foot peel.

#1: Rinse Your Feet

Baby Foot Original Exfoliation Foot peel includes two plastic booties that contain our special formula. It exfoliates and moisturizes your feet at the same time so that dead skin flakes away effortlessly. When you remove the booties after wearing them for one hour, it’s important to rinse your feet thoroughly.

After rinsing, gently pat your feet dry with a clean towel. Wear socks to keep your feet clean and dry as the peeling process begins.

#2: Moisturize with Caution

We recommend not using lotion after your foot peel treatment. That’s because the oils in most lotions will interfere with the foot peel and may lead to less-than-desired results.

Instead, if your skin feels dry, apply oil-free, water-based moisturizers only. This will keep your skin feeling soft as the peeling process takes place.

#3: Protect with Socks

Put on a pair of socks immediately after rinsing and drying the foot peel product from your feet. You’ll also want to put on a clean pair after every shower or bath.

For best results, wear clean, snug socks as much as possible in the one to two weeks after using your foot peel. Going barefoot or wearing sandals may interfere with the peeling process. Socks will also keep dead skin cells from accumulating on the floor and other surfaces as your feet continue to peel.

#4: Soak and Clean

In addition to rinsing your feet thoroughly immediately after your foot peel, regular soaking is an optional step that may improve results in some people.

Soaking your feet in warm water daily may help dead skin cells roll off more easily. An alternative is to gently rub your feet during a shower or bath to promote safe, healthy peeling.

#5: Handle with Care

Be gentle with your feet! Resist the temptation to scratch, pull, or pick at your skin as it peels. Once your skin starts shedding, avoid harsh scrubbing or using sharp objects like razor blades. Instead, keep your feet clean and wear comfortable socks as recommended.

Following these five simple habits will help you get the best results from your foot peel. Regular foot care makes it easy for people of all ages to enjoy the soft, youthful skin we all crave.
